Trials and Tribulations

Our little girl joined our family 28 months ago. We brought her home from the hospital the day after her birth and we were the hospital when she was born. We had our first opportunity to hold her a couple hours after she was born. This might seem like an odd way to introduce our story, but our little girl joined our family through adoption. Until recently her legal name was different then what her family called her. Accord to the legal system she still isn’t our daughter, but according to the three of us she became our daughter the day she was born. For my husband and I it has been a frustrating journey that stated three and a half years ago with the home study process. Our daughter was first introduced to us by a social worker two weeks before her birth. Would we change anything – just the time it has taken to complete the process. Watching our little girl grow from birth until now has been fantastic and we are eager to see where the future takes us with her.
